Palais Saint Georges

Chateau de Noirmoutier

Another look at Noirmoutier. This is the old Chateau Fort, the first traces of which were seen all the way back in 830. It has had a long and varied history, including being used as a military prison during the French Revolution. Photo taken in May 2001.

Passage du Gois

The famous passage to Noirmoutier-en-Ile, a small island in the west part of France. This passage is covered by water twice a day during the high tide. It was part of the Tour de France in 2005 and caused some problems for the riders. If you're ever here, make sure to time your arrival/departure accordingly! Photo taken in May 2001.

This one is for Genie at Paris and Beyond. She showed one of the beautiful window displays at the Repetto shop in Paris a few days ago. I found this picture of their shop in my archives. You'll find this mosque in the 5th arrondisement. It's a beautiful structure and there's a lovely little cafe inside where you can have authentic mint tea, or at least you used to be able to. There are also traditional baths. Photo taken in June 2004.
