In the blue

The blue hour reflected in Dortmund. Check out Weekend Reflections for more reflections. Photo taken in July 2016.

Facade

I just love brick buildings. Rotterdam is full of them! Photo taken in May 2016.

Blue on blue

I found the combination of the blue sky, blue windows and flower boxes very appealing. The only thing I don't like in this scene is the green bin. Ah well! Photo taken in October 2015.

Window sign

I found these beautifully carved leaves in the window of a Beisl in Vienna. Combined with the Kuchen ist Liebe (Cooing is Love) sign, I think it makes a nice scene. You'll find more signs at Signs, Signs. Photo taken in May 2015.

Belvedere cafe

What fantastic surroundings for sipping on a nice cup of tea or coffee. I love that this museum cafe really makes you feel like you are still browsing through the museum. Photo taken in May 2015.

Nice sign

Something about this scene caught my eye. I had to stop for a picture! Photo taken in May 2015.

Looking out

More details from the Maulbronn Abbey. The painted ceilings were gorgeous, unfortunately the light inside was low and my photos don't do it justice. Photo taken in March 2014.

Farewell Canada Tour: Symmetry and signs

More from Montréal. Something about this scene appealed to me - the windows with those flower boxes and the woman standing there. And I also love that the stop signs in Quebec are arret signs! They don't even have those in France; they definitely brought a smile to my face. Photo taken in July 2013. For more signs, visit Signs, Signs.

Farewell Canada Tour: Old city architecture

One of the things I love about Montreal is the architecture. You almost feel like you're walking the streets of Paris. Photo taken in July 2013.

Details

The main images in the stained glass windows tell the story of Methodism. The other smaller images are apparently important symbols in Christianity. The guide explained that the peacock is an important symbol to the Eastern Orthodox church, but I don't remember the significance. Photo taken in August 2012.
