I can't resist using an archway as a frame for a scene beyond. The gardens of the Imperial Palace in Hue were beautifully maintained. Photo taken in November 2016.

Imperial decay
Most of the Imperial Palace has not been restored. The decay has its own sort of beauty. Photo taken in November 2016.

Wishes
Most Southeast Asian countries don't use coins, so sometimes you see a few bills in the wishing well. Photo taken in November 2016.

Imperial remains
Vietnam's imperial city in Hue was once as big and impressive as the forbidden city of Beijing. Unfortunately, it suffered destruction during the Vietnam War. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and some areas are being restored. Others will remain in their current state. Photo taken in November 2016.
