Crowned

This is the Crown Room in the Schipol Airport in Amsterdam. The lounge is on the second story and the walls are all glass, so you can look down and see all the travelers hustling and bustling through the airport.

We flew through this airport on our way to Berlin back in June. It is one of the nicest crown rooms I've been to and two of those chairs pushed together made a good place to close your eyes for awhile.

I don't think skies get much bluer than this. This is a full frontal view of the Saint Louis Cathedral which graces Jackson Square in New Orleans. That's old Jackson himself riding his horse and waving his hat at you. This photo was taken in September 2010.

Lost balloon

Can you see it? This view of the sky comes to you from the New Orleans airport. I think it's nice when public places take advantage of the natural light. And who would want to miss a view of this blue sky!

We saw a lot of gators during our recent swamp tour in Louisiana. My MiL was sufficiently impressed. The tour guides tempt them with marshmallows so we could get a peek at their teeth.

Fake market

This is the real fake bird market inside the Animal Kingdom park at Walt Disney World. I love the way Disney makes the waiting areas entertaining. We were lucky not to wait too much though. This scene was part of the queue area of the Kali Rapid Adventures ride, but you almost feel like you're really in India! Photo taken in August 2010.

I visited the Butterfly Conservatory when I was in Key West last May. If you're ever in the neighborhood, it's certainly worth a visit. I saw so many of these beautiful creatures. They're really amazing!

Sarus crane

This crane calls Disney's Animal Kingdom home. They have a lot of birds and other animals on display. It was quite interesting to see all the birds, as I doubt there's much chance I'd ever see them in the wild.
