The Belvedere is a must-see in Vienna. Every room is filled with beautiful details like this one and it's the home of Klimmt's most famous paintings, including The Kiss. Photo taken in May 2015.

Big and bright
Unfortunately, I can't tell you much about this mural, except that I was attracted by the wonderful, bright blue. Hope you enjoy it as well! There are more murals at Monday Mural. Photo taken in May 2015.

Belvedere cafe
What fantastic surroundings for sipping on a nice cup of tea or coffee. I love that this museum cafe really makes you feel like you are still browsing through the museum. Photo taken in May 2015.

Musical mural
These beautiful works can be found in one of the many halls of the Vienna Staatsoper. I really enjoyed touring the building and I hope you did too. For more murals, take a look at Monday Mural. Photo taken in May 2015.

Another chandelier
As you can imagine, the Vienna Staatsoper is filled with beautiful chandeliers. Here is one that hangs above the grand staircase.
Do you like it better in black and white or color? Photo taken in May 2015.

Champagne room
During the interval, you can enjoy a glass of champagne or a light snack at the Vienna Staatsoper. Photo taken in May 2015.

Seating arrangements
Here's a look at the seating inside the Vienna Staatsoper. The box with the imperial eagle is where the Emperor would sit, these days it just goes to those who can afford it. Seats in that box can go for thousands of euros! Photo taken in May 2015.

Grand chandelier
Like most of the grand opera houses of Europe, the Staatsoper sustained a lot of damage during the war. This is not the original chandelier, but it certainly is beautiful and fits well within the space. Photo taken in May 2015.

Operatic skies
After the rain came the bright, blue sky. Don't let the color fool you though, it was still quite chilly. This Pegasus and rider adorn the Staatsoper, Vienna's main opera house. I took a tour of the building - inside shots are coming next week. Photo taken in May 2015.

A Viennese classic
Cafe Sperl is a Viennese institution. I enjoyed both the atmosphere and the delights that awaited me inside.

Raindrops on iris
Sadly the weather was not quite what I had hoped for during my recent weekend in Vienna. A bit of rain does have its advantages though! Photo taken in May 2015.

Large scale
I found this super large scale mural during my recent weekend in Vienna. It was so big, I couldn't fit the whole thing in one shot! The mural was painted by artist ROA in 2013 - you can see some more complete views of the work here. For more murals, take a look at Mural Monday. Photo taken in May 2015.

Gated off
I would have liked to see what lies beyond this gate, it looked like an interesting courtyard. But sadly it was closed off to me. Photo taken in August 2014.

Boys school
A former Ecole des Garcons in Montmartre. I love the doorway and how nice the building looks. My school was certainly not that nice! Photo taken in August 2014.

Chateau d'eau
The old water tower of Montmartre, I think water castle sounds nicer though! Photo taken in August 2014.

Go go dancer
This mural makes me think of a go go dancer in a cage. It's yet another find in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris. Photo taken in August 2014.

Floating
I really like the altar inside Saint Ferdinand church. Jesus seems to be floating above it, arms outstretched.
The only thing I can't decide is whether the image is better in color or black and white. What do you think? Photo taken in August 2014.
