A nice sky view from under the Rainier building in Seattle. Locals call it the wine glass building because of the way it's set up on a pedestal. Photo taken in April 2007.

oh my, i posted a photo of this same building 2 weeks ago for Photo-Hunt.:p the design is unique.
ReplyDeleteWow, is that something. The composition is terrific with the tree, and it's so crisp. Very nice, and by the way, I still like your new blog format :)
ReplyDeleteI love the perspective of looking UP at unique buildings. This one is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI have to say though, that the design - to me - looks less like a wine glass and more like one of those white plastic salt shakers you put in your picnic basket.
Clytie: I actually have no proof that's what the locals call it. I am just going off my Seattle city guide. Perhaps it's really called the picnic pepper shaker. I don't really think it looks much like a wine glass either.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful sky!
ReplyDeletehappy weekend.
Heading to Seattle next Wednesday. Maybe I'll see it. - Margy
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of a building that would have looked plain if it weren't for the pedestal. Cute nickname. :)
