Factory tour


We took a tour of a cloisonee factory while we were in Beijing. It was really interesting to see the traditional art of making these vases. We didn't buy any though, which I think disappointed our guide. Photo taken in November 2008.

Fall at the wall


A view of the Great Wall in autumn taken from our cable car. We visited the Mutianyu section of the wall where you take a cable car to the top and then ride a toboggan down. It was so beautiful there and my husband and I were the only tourists in sight for most of the morning. Photo taken in November 2008.

Les portes mordelaises


I believe a drawbridge qualifies as a bridge! This one comes to you from Rennes, France. This is all that remains of the old fortifications which were built in the 1400s. I don't think they've changed much over the years. Photo taken in 2003.

La Vilaine


The sun shines on the Vilaine River. Rennes is the capitol of the Ile-et-Vilaine department as well as the capitol of Brittany. Brittany is made up of four departments: Ile-et-Vilaine, Cotes d'Armor, Finistere and Morbihan. Each has its own unique beauty. Photo taken in March 2003.
