La Vilaine

The sun shines on the Vilaine River. Rennes is the capitol of the Ile-et-Vilaine department as well as the capitol of Brittany. Brittany is made up of four departments: Ile-et-Vilaine, Cotes d'Armor, Finistere and Morbihan. Each has its own unique beauty. Photo taken in March 2003.

Benches in the Saint Thomas Square in Rennes, France. I lived several years in this beautiful city and I still miss it. I believe this photo was taken sometime in 2003, but I can't be certain of the exact month. It looks like it must have be winter or late fall. I will be showing you scenes from this city all week. Public transportation: Maglev

This is the ultra high-speed train that will take you to and from downtown Shanghai to the airport in less than 10 minutes when it runs at full speed! The train goes at a max speed of 431km per hour, surprisingly you don't feel it at all.
