Gated off
I would have liked to see what lies beyond this gate, it looked like an interesting courtyard. But sadly it was closed off to me. Photo taken in August 2014.

Boys school
A former Ecole des Garcons in Montmartre. I love the doorway and how nice the building looks. My school was certainly not that nice! Photo taken in August 2014.

Chateau d'eau
The old water tower of Montmartre, I think water castle sounds nicer though! Photo taken in August 2014.

Go go dancer
This mural makes me think of a go go dancer in a cage. It's yet another find in the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris. Photo taken in August 2014.

Main draw
Of course the main draw of the Montmartre neighborhood is the Sacré Cœur. It's a must-see on any trip to Paris! Photo taken in August 2014.

Looking out at the streets of Paris, beautifully framed by the arch of Saint Ferdinand church. Photo taken in August 2014.

Floating
I really like the altar inside Saint Ferdinand church. Jesus seems to be floating above it, arms outstretched.
The only thing I can't decide is whether the image is better in color or black and white. What do you think? Photo taken in August 2014.

This is an outside view of the Fountain Room at Maulbronn Abbey. It was being restored when I visited but I have a feeling I'll be back here someday. Photo taken in March 2014.

Looking out
More details from the Maulbronn Abbey. The painted ceilings were gorgeous, unfortunately the light inside was low and my photos don't do it justice. Photo taken in March 2014.

Maulbronn fountain
This fountain is at the heart of the Maulbronn Abbey. Apparently the original monks decided to build on this site because of the amazingly clean and fresh water they found here. Photo taken in March 2014.

Courtyard view
I love those covered walkways you find in old European Abbeys. Maulbronn reminded me a lot of the Mont Saint Michel in Normandy. Photo taken in March 2014.

From the outside
Here is a look at the Porsche Museum from the outside. It was designed by the architecture firm Delugan Meissl.
It's a very impressive building, especially when you walk underneath and see the reflections in the mirrored tiles. The next time I'm in Stuttgart, I'm going to visit the Mercedes Museum. Photos taken in March 2014.
