  7. I've only seen a couple of bridge lifts in my life - long before I started carrying my camera with me wherever I went.

    Someday I will catch a bridge in the 'up' position! I swear I will!

  8. Hey, Halcyon, you were in my hood and didn't give me a call? :-)

    To your readers who mentioned it, it might interest them to know that actually, this railroad bridge is kept in the up position unless the train comes, then it goes down. This leaves the waterway open to tall boats and ships.
