I'm surprised, but that's because I'm so ignorant of the area...quite an imposing structure in the heart of the jungle!
It seems incongruous. I'll bet the history of Manaus is fascinating. Thanks for showing this. I don't tolerate heat well and I missed a lot of Manaus, including this. Or if I saw it, it was only a glimpse. There is some amzaing architecture there.
