Archer in the desert

There's something about this sculpture that I really like. Maybe it's those wonderful circles or the lovely patina on the archer himself.

The only thing I couldn't decide is whether I like it better in color or black and white. What do you think? Photo taken in February 2013.

  1. I dunno, they both have certain attractive characteristics ... fortunately it doesn't have to be "either - or" but we can enjoy the duo.

Glad to hear you did well on an Arizona golf course! Sometimes, a bit of a layoff helps. Maybe we forget our bad habits for a bit?

I played yesterday with about an 8 to 1 ratio: I'd hit 8 bad shots and 1 good one. It was very ugly! :))

  2. I like it in color. The circles give this another dimension, almost like the "Man" by Leonardo with his arms outstretched.

  3. This sculpture is wonderful, I love both versions, b&w is also very artistic and I love the green vegetation around this lovely sculpture in your first shot.

  5. I choose not to choose one over the other. I like both for the different aspects they offer.
The blue is really a magnet for my eyes with the other softer colors around.

  6. I prefer the color version, I think because of the blue circle/sky.

  8. Hey, nice. Glad to see that you got some time away. Both photos are great, but this might be one of the rare times where I prefer the black and white. The figure stands out more clearly against the background in black and white.

  9. @Jack - I usually like b&w better, but in this case I was leaning more towards the color. :)
