This sign preceded the bridge across the Bosphorus River. Just a reminder of what's NOT allowed - please don't try to cross on your horse-drawn cart or tractor. For more signs, take a look here. Photo taken in October 2015.
I thought the symbols had to have a red slash across them to be forbidden. Interesting sign. Our highways always have tractors on them. You don't want to hit one. They are bigger than you are.
@Taken for Granted - in Europe the red circle means no (whatever). I understand your confusion, though. I think the slash also makes things more clear.
That covers the essentials!
ReplyDeleteHorse-drawn carts and tractors are anathema on bridges and other narrow spaces! A car or truck could easily bump them off into the river!
ReplyDeleteA wordless sign that everyone understands... regardless language.
ReplyDeleteI will remember that!

ReplyDeleteI was also thinking that there should be a slash to denote not allowed.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the traffic on that bridge I'm glad I was on a bus!!
That's pretty clear considering it's complicated.
