The cloister

The cloisters at Jerónimos Monastery are just gorgeous and filled with so many beautiful details! It's a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must-see during any visit to Lisbon. Photo taken in August 2016.

Santa Maria

Before entering the Monastery itself, you have the opportunity to visit the church of Santa Maria.

Brick by brick

I discovered this mural while wandering the streets of Lisbon last August. With the recent Brexit vote and continuing problems with migration, I found this to be a timely message. Colorful joy

It seemed like there were colorful murals on almost every corner in Lisbon! I just love the size of this one and all the joyous activity.

Tiny treasure

A quick look inside the Our Lady of the Olives church in Lisbon. It's a tiny space, you could easily pass it by, but I'm glad I didn't as the interior is lovely.

Funny faces

True love

Dortmund pilgrimage

Dortmund is well-known for their football (soccer) team. Thousands of people make the pilgrimage here each year to visit the famed Signal Iduna Park.

It's pretty much impossible to get tickets to a game, but I at least got to take a stadium tour.

Modern architecture was also a part of the shopping scene in Dortmund. This glass dome was graced with lights that changed colors every few minutes.
