It's hard to get a really good shot inside the lobby of the Palmer House hotel, so please excuse the lack of precise focus. I just wanted to show how grand of a waiting area it is.
Everything seems to be bathed in a golden light and there's so much detail on the walls and ceiling. If you're in Chicago, it's worth a peek inside! Photo taken in August 2012.
It is gorgeous isn't it? I have stayed at the Palmer House twice in the last few years and even featured the lobby on my blog here: http://tallydailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/12/our-hotel.html
ReplyDeleteI just love sitting in that lobby drinking coffee and people watching!
It's fabulous!Look at this ceiling - wow, fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou did well. Looks like some kind of European castle entrance. Although I lived in Chicago, I was never able to get into the Palmer House. They said something about "riff raff." I said, "What?" They said, "Get out!"
ReplyDeleteI didn't think that was very nice.
Oh...also, I don't know what that John 3:16 shop sold. As I recall it was closed and out of business. Which makes sense. Who wants to buy clothes in a church? ;-)
ReplyDeleteVERY grand!
ReplyDeleteThat's sumptuous indeed!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!
