There is a part of town in Phoenix that is covered with Mexican-themed murals. I spent a little time shooting there during my recent trip to Arizona. I really liked this mural especially, maybe it's the girlie-morbidism that I find appealing or perhaps it's the color. For more murals, take a look at Monday Murals. Photo taken in February 2013.
Beautiful mural with lots of artdetails!Very creative!

She reminds me of some actress whose name I can't recall...interesting for sure.
ReplyDeleteI meant to tell you how much I liked the photo on your Toronto blog this morning. Very artsy and well-done!
Well done...but, a smidge too much on the morbid side for me.
ReplyDeleteShe's so well detailed that the morbid parts fade away!
ReplyDeleteA lovely girl who has died and returned to her loved ones on Day of the Dead. The black butterfly is a nice touch too! Did you know in Mexico they consider the return of the Monarch butterflies by the thousands to be the return of their dead?
ReplyDeleteI knew it had to be Mexican inspired, it reminded me of their Day of the Dead art.
ReplyDeleteShe'd be perfect for a Zombie Run!
ReplyDeleteKind of a fleshed out Caterina. We have something similar her but she's more skeletal and is smoking. Yikes! I like the references to the Day of the Dead. These murals must have been lots of fun to see. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDelete@Marie - I did not know that about the butterflies, but it makes a lot of sense. The butterfly is one of the things that attracted me to this mural.
ReplyDeleteQuite an interesting mural.
