Grating

The water that runs through Brown's Race is right here under your feet. I think geometric patterns like this always look good in black and white.

However, I'm still not sure if it looks better in horizontal or vertical. What do you think? Photo taken in September 2011. To see more monochrome shots from around the world, visit the Weekend in Black and White.

  1. To me, the top shot is more dramatic - but what would I know? I just like it!!

  4. Great patterns! The horizontal gives it a vertical feel somehow (if that makes sense!), I get more motion from it.
I tried changing my cookies but that didn't seem to work, I'm still having trouble commenting on people's sites that don't have pop up windows. WOuld you mind sharing with me what you did since I think whatever I did, I did it wrong!

  6. I don't really think it matters. It's just a great abstract shot. I think I prefer the second - but I'm not sure ;)

  9. Fabulous shots, and I prefer the perspective of the first one. I think that it is more about the angle of the shot than the vertical vs horizontal.
