I've been on a black and white kick with many of my shots from Rochester. Somehow the stone facade here seems to cry out for monochrome. I also like the street lamp. Photo taken in September 2011. To see more monochrome shots from around the world, visit the Weekend in Black and White.
I really like the contrast between the two buildings - the rugged, rough stone texture as opposed to that smooth, concrete look. And they b&w works well.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! Play lots of golf!
I agree that much of Rochester would look very good in B&W. Hmmm. I'll have to remember that next time we visit family in Upstate NY.
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic! Love this kind of photos!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comments on the b/w. The texture of the wall contrasts with the building beyond and the lamp shape is featured better in b/w. Very nice!

I love this shot. Why nobody is around in this area? Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love stone walls like that, and the roughness contrasts so well with the newer building and the neat lines on the ground.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog. I so agree--B & W makes this so much more dramatic and interesting. Have a great weekend. Mickie ;)
ReplyDeleteMany interesting structures here...
ReplyDeleteVery good black and white photo.
