Salvador de Bahia

Blue skies enhance all of the colorful buildings. This was one of my favorite places on our trip to Brazil a few years back. I loved the mix of African and European cultures and the people were so friendly and interesting. Photo taken in December 2007.

  1. I totally agree with you as to the mix cultures and I love seeing the old portuguese architecture in the tropics. It's such a contrast!

I loved this pictures, it's so beautiful, I hope to visit there someday.I only "know"my Brazil, from the South of Brazil - Rio Grande do Sul State, then...Santa Catarina State, Paraná State , Minas Gerais State, São Paulo State and Rio de Janeiro State ( however I've never visit the Rio de Janeiro City , the capital, unfortunately).
Thanks a lot for this post!

  7. This is wonderful! So many beautiful elements...the buildings and their colors, the churches (those are churches, right?) and the sky is just glorious - even got a bird flying over the city!

  8. It really is beautiful. I love the billowy clouds in the sky and how all the pedestrians seem to be doing a bit of skywatching, too! Greetings from rainy California...
