More revelers


More costumes from the carnival in Venice. Although they're beautiful, I find the masks a bit disconcerting. I think it's because the faces are so fixed. Photo taken in February 2004.

    Great post for Mardi Gras (Carnival)... yes, the masks are a little disconcerting -- I suppose they're meant to be.

    I prefer the half-masks as they are less severe. You can see a bit of the person behind the mask.
