I have no idea what this flower is called, but if anyone knows please enlighten me. I think it's really beautiful and would love to try one in my garden. I found this one in the public gardens of Saugatuck. Photo taken in May 2011. If you like flowers, visit Floral Fridays.
I would say it's giant garlic, but of course I might be wrong. Anyway, whatever it is it's lovely:)
ReplyDeleteLovely photo! It looks like an Allium decipiens. See:

Thank you for participating in Floral Friday Fotos!
I don't know the name but once I took a picture of the same flower in that island in Germany...I think the name is Mainau island. I love the flower colour!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture!

I will say without fear of contradiction that it is purple! Or maybe lilac? Puce?
ReplyDeleteAh, heck, it's pretty!
Beautiful blooms.
ReplyDeletePink and White Euphorbias
It's a beautiful color and shape. I'm sure Nick is right (not because I know anything, but I just know Nick is right!)
ReplyDelete@Sallie - of course as soon as I got here the weather turned cold again. It even snowed a little today. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if it has a perfume of any sort? I adore all purple flowers. This is indeed very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is it's beautiful!
