Loire Valley castles: Chenonceaux

Chenonceaux is also known as the Chateau des Dames. It's an architectural jewel of the Renaissance and has a very rich history. Photo taken in November 2002.

  1. Really beautiful!
I'm here dreaming of my trip to France.

  2. A very beautiful pic! Love castles too;o)
And I've just brought some pics of Chenonceaux taken from the other bank of the Loire! We didn't visit it because we had visited Chambord and we arrived half an hour before the end of the visits!
Will post my castles pics later;o)
    Thanks for sharing yours;o)

Have a nice and happy week****

  3. I loved this castle when I visited it few years ago, and I love your picture:)

  4. When I lived in France, I did several castle tours when people came to visit. This one was always top on the list. It's one of my favorites. I'll show more views of it next week. But the most amazing thing is part of this castle is actually built over the river.

  5. I do believe I've seen photos of this castle. Magnificent!

  6. Definitely like out of a fairytale!

  7. Yes, this is one of the best chateaux. The more typical shots are from the side. I was here in 1983 and again in 2006.

Thanks for visiting. I love hearing from you.
