Cafe des Nattes

The famous Cafe des Nattes in Sidi Bou Said, just outside of Tunis. You've got to stop in for a thé a la menthe.

Scanned photo taken in March 2002 with an old point-and-shoot.

  3. Well, I really like this. It's so well-composed: One sits in the chair, then rises and walks up the stairs. Have to be careful, though, 'cause the stairs are worn and crooked, and what looks like a rug might trip you up.

Amazing what you can do with an old point-and-shoot!

  4. I did have a digital camera at this time. It was one of the very first Olympus models - really boxy. But it couldn't be trusted for vacations b/c one or two photos would drain the batteries. And then I had issues with the memory card and alot of photos were erased. I think the only ones remaining are a few snapshots from Ile de Noirmoutiers.

That old point-and-shoot did me well though.

  5. Okay, I would sooooo be there ... creme de menthe in hand, friends at my side ... perched on the gorgeous rug on the stairs ... just having a good time, enjoying the beauty around me!
