Football fever

Football is as popular in Berlin as in any big European city. These were the crowds heading to see Hertha play in April 2009.

Japanese bridge

The Honolulu airport has a beautiful Japanese garden inside the secure area. It was refreshing to be able to wait for our flight in such beautiful surroundings. I'm not sure that many people knew about this gem of a garden though as it was pretty empty. Just more for us to enjoy! Photo taken in January 2010.

View from the rental

This is the bridge from San Diego proper over to Coronado island. I took this quickly from the rental car as we were speeding past. There really wasn't a good place to stop for a picture. I think the car window makes for an interesting frame though.

The Disney World boardwalk area reflected in Lake Buena Vista by night. My husband and I will be back in August. My employer is an "official" partner of Disney and I recently won an employee drawing for a Disney Cruise / Resort vacation. I'm really looking forward to it!

Douarnenez 2000

This is an old scanned photo from the Douarnenez 2000 sailing festival in Finitstere, Bretagne. The festival is held every two years and it's wonderful to see all the beautiful sail boats. I was lucky to get some sun reflecting off this one.

Rennes plage

In Paris they set up a beach on the banks of the Seine during the summer. Rennes tried their own twist on summer fun by setting up chaises longs on the main square for residents and visitors to enjoy!

I used to live in Rennes where they have a spectacular Saturday market. You could purchase most everything under the sun: fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood, meats, cheese, crafts and... flowers!

Arkansas bridge

This is a bridge over the Mississippi River between Mississippi and Arkansas. We took it on the way to Oklahoma City in December 2009.

Since this bridge has generated so much interest, I thought I'd add that this is the Benjamin G. Humphreys Bridge which is located on US Highway 82.

Berlin wall victims memorial

Unfortunately, this memorial is no longer there. The land was sold to a developer who ordered the removal of the crosses. I'm glad I got a picture before it was gone. It was a nice way to remember those who died trying to get over the wall.
