The Crystal Bridge is part of the Myriad Gardens in Oklahoma City. It's like a greenhouse inside with tropical plants and waterfalls, a very nice place to visit. Photo taken in September 2008. To see more bridges from around the world, please visit the Sunday Bridges series.

We took a tour of a cloisonee factory while we were in Beijing. It was really interesting to see the traditional art of making these vases. We didn't buy any though, which I think disappointed our guide. Photo taken in November 2008.
A view of the Great Wall in autumn taken from our cable car. We visited the Mutianyu section of the wall where you take a cable car to the top and then ride a toboggan down. It was so beautiful there and my husband and I were the only tourists in sight for most of the morning. Photo taken in November 2008.
I showed you the old City Hall in Toronto before here. Now for a look at the vertical view, complete with clock tower. I couldn't get back far enough to get a good shot of the building and the tower together. Hope you enjoy it in two parts! Photo taken in September 2010.
Texas has long-standing ties with France, it was actually once a French colony. I spotted these fleur de lys in the floor of the state capitol in Austin. Photo taken in July 2010.
I believe a drawbridge qualifies as a bridge! This one comes to you from Rennes, France. This is all that remains of the old fortifications which were built in the 1400s. I don't think they've changed much over the years. Photo taken in 2003.

It may defeat the purpose to show graffiti in black and white, but this scene just looked so good in monochrome I couldn't resist. Photo taken in March 2003.
The sun shines on the Vilaine River. Rennes is the capitol of the Ile-et-Vilaine department as well as the capitol of Brittany. Brittany is made up of four departments: Ile-et-Vilaine, Cotes d'Armor, Finistere and Morbihan. Each has its own unique beauty. Photo taken in March 2003.

Benches in the Saint Thomas Square in Rennes, France. I lived several years in this beautiful city and I still miss it. I believe this photo was taken sometime in 2003, but I can't be certain of the exact month. It looks like it must have be winter or late fall. I will be showing you scenes from this city all week. I hope you enjoy!
Reflections from the fountain inside the Detroit airport. It's one of those with the dancing jets of water - an entertaining decoration when you've got a couple of hours to kill before your next flight. Photo taken in June 2010.

This woolly mammoth guards the entrance to the Museum of Natural History in Paris. It's an interesting place to visit if you have some time. Photo taken in September 2006.
This is the oldest church in Berlin. It's located in the former East Berlin, not far from Alexanderplatz. It was originally a Catholic church but converted to Lutheranism during the protestant reformation. Photo taken in July 2006.
Berlin has almost every type of public transportation you can imagine. You'll only find the trams in the former east however, they never quite caught on in the west. Photo taken in July 2006.

This is the ultra high-speed train that will take you to and from downtown Shanghai to the airport in less than 10 minutes when it runs at full speed! The train goes at a max speed of 431km per hour, surprisingly you don't feel it at all.
I love to take photos of subways when I'm visiting another city. Here you get a good look at the doorway of the Prague underground train. Photo taken in July 2006.
